MARRIAGE IS 4 REAL PEOPLE…It’s God's idea for humanity. This refreshing book, a culmination of our shared experiences and a testament to our lifelong commitment, is finally here. We raise an Ebenezer unto the Lord, Jehovah, as we join with the Prophet Samuel, in I Samuel 7:12, and say, “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.” We, Bourne and Ingie, warmly invite you, with a heart of gratitude, to journey with us through our marriage's intimate thoughts, which include our struggles, triumphs, and the lessons we've learned along the way. We hope you can reflect on your journey and find inspiration to celebrate and ENHANCE IT.

“Significance and potential to impact not only their immediate surroundings fill everyone’s journey. Therefore, there is further tremendous potential to extend that impact into circles of movement, both present and future. Our lives are like a stack of dominoes, coexisting in time and space, and only God knows the real impact of each life story. Sharing one’s journey, we believe, is essential...” (Shades of Purple, Vol. 1). We fervently pray this book will not just inspire but challenge you to LIVE YOUR STORY. ENJOY THE bird’s eye view of OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION of “A Legacy of Love”, a milestone that signifies the endurance, strength, and lasting impact of our love and commitment to each other, family, and friends.

In this first book of our Marriage Series, a collection of personal reflections on the joys and challenges of marriage, we pay homage to three couples who were separated this year by death. Our niece, Janeen, said so long to Stephon, her husband, at the end of February. "Their 6-plus years of marriage seem equivalent to our 50+ years." My sister, Jeanette, and brother-in-law Carroll, who were sister and brother to us both, bid farewell to the love of her life in early April. They had "a remarkable 57+ years of marriage, just shy of the 59 years our parents had been married." Our dear friend Marcella said goodbye to David in mid-May, her spouse and ministerial partner of 44+ years. "They seemed to understand the rhythm of relationships, and despite the age difference, they negotiated the course that each needed to complete their 'together journey' with victory."
